Vocational training as an office management assistant

During your vocational training as an office management assistant, you will work in many administrative areas and you may already find out where you feel most at home. If you are communicative, have a real talent for organisation and have a higher school leaving certificate with good grades in German, English and maths, we look forward to receiving your application!

 

1 Varied vocational training in many departments

Two days of vocational school per week, three days at the company. In this combination, you will learn the theoretical basics of your profession on the one hand, and on the other hand you will dive directly into practice, where experienced colleagues will teach you a lot of things. This way, your vocational training will provide you with an ideal foundation for your professional life!

During your vocational training, you will spend time in various administrative areas of our organisation, where you will learn how to perform a wide range of tasks. Afterwards, you will know exactly how the processes work and are interlinked.

At reception, it's all about communication. Here you will be our first business card to the outside world and will score the most points with your friendly, open manner. You will speak on the phone with many business partners as well as with colleagues, who you will put through to the right contact person in the office, and you will welcome our clients. Your other tasks include dealing with incoming mail and preparing meeting rooms and in-house events, which you will also occasionally assist with.

Good spelling, punctuation and grammar skills will benefit you in the report office, as this is where the audit reports for our clients are completed. They are then adapted to our format, printed and bound. In addition to your linguistic skills, you will also need to be proficient in using the programmes Word and Excel.

The primarily organisational tasks in the area of assisting partners are particularly varied, where you will provide support to our partners and teams of specialist staff and free them up so that they can concentrate fully on their specialist work and our clients.

Whether dealing with correspondence, preparing written documents and presentations, processing incoming and outgoing mail, planning and booking business trips, coordinating appointments and tasks, organising meetings or writing invoices, this is where your dedicated commitment is needed!

The human resources department, marketing and IT will also be central stations on your "journey" through the company. Among other things, you will monitor and coordinate application procedures and conversations and be present at job interviews. You will prepare seminars and carry out important evaluations afterwards. Or you can help coordinate internal events, write and send out invitations for festivities, assist in the creation of social media content and carry out research tasks. Even if that sounds like a lot of variety, there are many more exciting tasks waiting for you.

Your vocational training lasts three years. It includes an intermediate exam after one year and a final exam after three years. You can take the latter earlier if you do particularly well.

2 Why you should do your vocational training at Stückmann

Office management assistants do a very important job and are always needed. Accordingly, this vocational training is very popular and an important building block for your professional development. There are many good arguments in favour of Stückmann as a vocational training company - from the special appreciation to the great variety to the strong support.

Office management assistants may not be at the forefront, but they are indispensable to Stückmann because they form a strong team enabling the specialist staff in tax advice and auditing to provide their services to our clients. You will also already make an important contribution to this during your vocational training.

At Stückmann trainees are always actively involved in the work of the respective teams. At first, you will get to know the work by carrying out basic tasks and you will learn the ropes bit by bit. Gradually, however, you will also be involved in smaller projects, which will increase your responsibility for tasks at the same time.

Your vocational training at Stückmann won't be boring, as you will be assigned to different departments on a regular basis.

In each of these departments, a contact person will support you and answer your questions. Your overall development over the entire duration of your vocational training will be monitored by a permanent vocational trainer who will be available to you at all times to provide you with advice and assistance. Of course, you will also learn a lot from your colleagues in the respective sections. You can learn a lot from them and they will be happy to pass on their experience to you. They will also gladly answer your questions, so don't be shy!

As far as the equipment of a modern office is concerned, we at Stückmann are always up-to-date. More and more things are going digital, which means that many work processes are becoming increasingly flexible. Accordingly, we provide you with an iPhone and an iPad, which you can also use at vocational school and for private purposes.

3 You can rely on our support

We know that you first have to find your way around when you start your professional life. That is why we will support you as much as possible during your vocational training. We have a lot of confidence in you at the same time so we will involve you in numerous tasks right away. Our experience shows that this is the most effective way to learn and you will quickly know what is important in your job!

To make you feel welcome right away and help you settle in quickly, we will welcome you and your fellow trainees with an introductory day. In the subsequent onboarding events, you will get to know the main areas and structures of our company step by step.

Because many things will still be very new for you at the beginning of your vocational training, we want to be close to you. That's why the vocational training officers and your trainer will sit down with you after a short time to do an initial "stocktaking": Have you settled in? Is everything as you imagined it beforehand? Is there anything we can improve? These are just a few of the many important questions that interest us. During your vocational training, we will meet several times to discuss the status of your training and your wishes.

In addition to these discussions, regular exchanges with other trainees in the company are also important. That's why we promote these contacts, for example, with joint lunches or the annual trainee day, which can be freely designed and organised.

And the more often you exchange ideas with colleagues in "hallway conversations", the more clearly you will feel the togetherness that makes Stückmann so special.

You'd like to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in your field alongside your vocational training? We think that's great and are happy to cover the costs of seminars and courses that will help you advance (e.g. telephone training, Excel training). If you see interesting offers, you can simply ask your vocational trainer about them. Of course, we will also sponsor all the learning materials you need and the preparatory courses for your intermediate and final exams so that you can start with a good feeling.

As you can see, even though our trainees only make up a small part of our more than 200 members of staff, the topic of "vocational training" is very important to us. Our goal is to support and promote each trainee individually and to prepare them in the best possible way for successful completion of their training. Of course, this also applies to you!

 

4 What about after your vocational training? We want you to stay with us!

Vocational training often goes by faster than you think. Then the next decision has to be made -what do you want to do next? It's simple - stay with us!

Our goal is to take on trainees directly after their vocational training. After successfully completing their vocational training, most (former) trainees start in the assistance area, where they assist a partner or a team. But you also have the opportunity to work in other areas of the company after successfully completing your vocational training.

If you want to pursue further qualifications, we will be happy to support you with generous financial subsidies and the conversion of overtime into learning time. We are open to your ideas and flexible in realising them.
